below is the invitation we designed and letterpress printed for our little em’s baptism.

the soft gray design on the cards was adapted from the delicate lace and pintuck design of the feltman brothers dress that she wore after the ceremony.

the design was also carried through to the fondant cake that was served at the celebration that followed.

[once again, i edited the invitation photos for privacy sake. her full name was printed on the cards we sent out.]

these gorgeous pictures of lisa lefkowitz’s studio are very inspiring. so bright + fresh. although our studio is unpacked and put together, there are a few finishing touches left to do. i want to get more storage, a few prints to hang on the walls and a new light fixture. seeing her studio may be just the push i need to finish up our space.

think we picked up enough paint swatches for the office? before, we were considering robin’s nest and sea salt, but then we decided robin’s nest was too bright and sea salt too dreary. so, we narrowed it down to delicate mist [behr] and tropical surf [glidden]. both of us were leaning heavily on tropical surf. we got paint samples of both, and kacey painted a large swatch on foam core board. that’s when we realized tropical surf was way to dark and too blue. it wasn’t subtle enough. so now, i think we may be going with delicate mist instead. i’m so happy we painted a large area on foam core. it really allowed us to see the color. those swatches they provide are just too small!

pretty prints from etsy seller the wheatfield. “you are my sunshine” has always been a favorite song of mine, and i always imagined singing it to my little baby. hopefully, i’ll get that chance in a little over a month.

we’ve been on the hunt for a rug to go underneath our dining room table. we’ve checked the usual places - pottery barn, west elm, crate and barrel, antropologie, etc. i spotted these trompe l’oeil floor mats while looking at urban outfitters. although not quite the look we’re going for, i think they’d look nifty in the right space. very farmhouse chic. especially with these tolix stools and wildflowers in pretty bottles sitting on the table.

in preparation for the baby, i think nesting is kicking in and not just in the nursery. we recently did a little revamp in our bathroom. thanks to young house love, we discovered extra long shower curtains. so, we changed out our too short one and put in this nice long white one
. it looks so much better! and now that we’ve got a new shower curtain, i think it’d be nice to add a few accessories too. maybe a pretty framed print or two. something soft and fresh to compliment our new white addition. i spotted these two prints and i’m thinking they’d look lovely.

lately, we’ve been thinking about what colors we would like to go with for the baby’s nursery. we’ve toyed around with pinks, salmons + yellows. and blush pinks + dark pinks. then we thought about pinks + whites, until we remembered that we registered for lots of organic items which meant creams would be in the mix, too.
then, i saw this image on jordan’s blog. it represents the latest color palette i picture in my head for the nursery. ballet pink. oyster. putty. chocolate. right now this is our front running color combo. this could all change tomorrow though!
