The other day, I was visiting my cousin. She had just received a pretty invitation. I watched her open it. Instead of ripping it open from the top, she popped it open from the side.
I thought it was such a great trick. Afterward, you can tuck the side flap back inside.
This way, the envelope stays nice + intact for safekeeping.
whoa…that’s pretty nifty! but how does it pop open like that from the side?
place the envelope with the back facing you. run the letter opener on the lower portion of the envelope between the front bottom flap and the side flap. on the side of the envelope, that’s the only place that the glue is. once that’s released, untuck the small side flap and remove your letter.

This is a great idea for keeping the envelope pretty and intact, but you would miss the envelope liner that the sender may have added as a surprise! Just a thought…
Wow, that’s such a clever way of opening an envelope!
